Cutleaf Stephanandra (Stephanandra incisa ‘Crispa’) Cutleaf Stephanandra (Stephanandra incisa ‘Crispa’), also known as Laceleaf Stephanandra, is a fast-spreading deciduous groundcover shrub prized for its finely textured foliage, red-tinged stems, and ability to cascade gracefully over slopes and walls. This low-growing, easy-care shrub adds natural softness to any landscape while offering reliable erosion control and seasonal color. Distinctive Features This mounding shrub typically grows 2 to 3 feet tall and spreads 4 to 6 feet wide, forming dense, arching mats of foliage. Its deeply lobed, serrated leaves emerge with a reddish tint in spring, mature to bright green, and turn yellow to bronze in fall.
