Fastigiata Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus ‘Fastigiata’) Fastigiata Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus ‘Fastigiata’) is a narrow, upright form of the native Eastern White Pine, valued for its columnar structure and soft, blue-green needles. Its vertical habit adds height and year-round presence without taking up horizontal space, making it a smart choice for screens, accents, or formal plantings. Distinctive Features ‘Fastigiata’ grows in a tight, upright form, reaching 25 to 40 feet tall and only 6 to 10 feet wide. Its finely textured needles maintain the soft, flowing appearance of the species, but the narrow architecture creates a more formal, vertical presence. Over time, the tree forms a dense, upright column that holds its shape well with little pruning.
