Long-lasting gold foliage with seasonal color shifts Compact size fits modern garden spaces Attracts butterflies with soft pink flowers Goldmound Spirea Goldmound Spirea brings season-spanning color and reliable performance to the landscape. With its compact habit and golden foliage that shifts in tone throughout the year, this easy-care shrub provides continuous visual interest. In late spring, clusters of pink blooms emerge against the chartreuse leaves, drawing in butterflies and softening the overall effect. A great choice for borders, foundations or mixed beds, this spirea is as dependable as it is showy. Consistent Color and Texture: From the first flush of spring growth to late fall, Goldmounds foliage evolves in huestarting with vivid yellow-green, maturing into soft golden tones and ending with warm shades of orange and red. It fills visual gaps in garden beds and acts as a natural contrast to deeper greens and dark blooms. Small Space Friendly and Low Maintenance: Goldmound grows into a naturally rounded form, rarely exceeding 3.5 feet in height or width. It requires little pruning and tolerates a range of soil types, including the poor or dry soils often found near foundations and sidewalks. Appealing Blooms With Pollinator Value: Pink flower clusters bloom in late spring, standing just above the foliage. While not overpowering, they add a charming seasonal layer to the plant and bring pollinators like butterflies to your garden. Reliable in Tough Conditions: This variety shows good resistance to deer and remains resilient in a variety of climates, including areas with harsh winters or hot, humid summers. Once established, its tolerant of drought and very easy to care for.
